Paul Johnston
Senior Systems Engineer
With over two decades of experience in IT operations, systems administration, and network infrastructure, Paul Johnston brings a wealth of hands-on technical knowledge and leadership to the Impress Computers team. Before joining Impress, Paul served as Director of NOC Services at Byte Time Computing, where he oversaw the design, deployment, and management of secure IT environments across a diverse client base.
Paul specializes in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, firewall configuration, virtualization (VMware), backup and disaster recovery, and advanced remote monitoring tools like N-able and ConnectWise. He has a strong background in deploying cybersecurity platforms, managing VPNs across multi-vendor networks, and leading server and workstation migrations. From hands-on support to full-scale infrastructure buildouts, Paul’s attention to detail and strategic mindset make him a valuable asset to our managed services team.
Paul earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Texas State University with a minor in Mathematics and holds certifications including CompTIA A+ and Cisco CCNA. A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal during his service as an Avionics Technician.
Outside of work, Paul is passionate about technology, teaching, and staying physically active—values rooted in his military background and professional development.
